Forgot all that X factor hype! Start trawling the internet for Swedish Idols 2005 participant Danny Saucedo! He is well known to most scandipop lovers across Europe. But any mention over here in the UK and you would be met with many, many blank faces! For shame! However all is not lost, recent rumours suggest Mr Saucedo has been picked up by a major record label and is about to attempt a crack at the UK market. His musical taste being rather edged towards more dance-pop which means any attempt to break the UK music scene could leave Danny with huge success or just as easily become a huge flop. Scandipop-Tastic are routing for him tho, his rather stunningly beautiful swedish looks and addictive club thumping pop tunes are sure to go down a treat. Check out the New and Now to hear more!

Yep that 90's scandipop group Ace of Base and still New and Now! Remember them? They received worldwide stardom from those highly catchy tunes "All That She Wants" and "The Sign." Well their still going strong over in Sweden, releasing new material. There has been a slight change of line up, in terms of the two vocalists, but its still the same good old' Ace of Base, that scandipop-tastic adores!! Hello people, another update for you lovely folks. If you havent already noticed. To the right of the page, our brand new music player is now featured. Which will be updated often as i can. You can listen to your hearts content. Or if you'd rather just listen to your own music (Tho id ask you not to, seeing as this is a blog dedicated to my love of Scandipop music!), but you can feel free just to leave the music player off. It's just a nice little touch I thought i'd add to the page. All music videos are courtesy of the people at Youtube. Also I am merely showcasing the music videos, I do not intend for people to steal them! These people need all the help they can get, to get into the UK charts so if you like what you see, please download/purchase them legally guys! Another update to the world of Scandipop-Tastic. Head over to the New and Now page to check it out. A little update from the pop scene over in Denmark, with a truly poptastic band. Infernal hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark. Consist of vocalist Lina Rafn and songwriter and keyboardist Paw Lagermann. The pop band had early success in their homeland in the mid 90's and finally broke out internationally in the mid 00's. Since then the band has gone quiet again on the international front. Yes... finally Scandipop-Tastic is getting its gears into motion... and we now have our Artist of The Week. This band are a personal favourite of mine and have been for many years now. They are one of the very first influence's for my love of Scandipop music. So I present to you Scandipop-Tastic's first artist of the week.Very well deserved so too! I hope you enjoy as much as I do. Just a reminder, there are big things coming. An explosion of all things that are Scandipop-Tastic!!

The Birth of Scandipop-Tastic!

Welcome!


As a Broadcast Journalism student at Staffordshire University, I have been given the task to set up a blog about something I myself am passionate about. So after much thinking and pondering over what to do. I finally came up with Scandipop-Tastic! A site that is dedicated to the love of music, which is a tad different to the mainstream. My own guilty pleasure. The love of all music from Scandinavia... Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and even beyond to Europe. Now, I know one of the first things that comes to mind, when thinking of scandipop music... ABBA! This is not the case.... not saying that I don't love Abba... but there is more to scandipop music than this. In which I hope to showcase in this blog. I will feature artists... music videos.. and eventually my Top 20 scandipop tunes which I love. Too few sites give the recognition this music much deserves, so enjoy...
